Engelbert Humperdinck

Engelbert Humperdinck, born Arnold George Dorsey on May 2, 1936 in Madras, British India (now Chennai, India), is a British pop singer known for his smooth voice and romantic ballads. He rose to international fame in the 1960s with the release of “Release Me,” which famously kept The Beatles’ “Penny Lane” off the number one spot in the UK.

He followed up with several global hits including “The Last Waltz,” “A Man Without Love,” “After the Lovin’” and “Quando, Quando, Quando.” His signature style blends pop, traditional pop, and easy listening, earning him a loyal fanbase across generations.

With a career spanning over six decades, Humperdinck has sold more than 140 million records worldwide and received multiple Grammy nominations and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Known for his elegant stage presence and deep connection with fans, he continues to tour and record new music
